King Neptune and his Court, along with the 2007 Sea Goddess,Megan Ranquist, arrive from the briny deep to raise the flag and officially open the 2008 Maine Lobster Festival. Opening ceremonies will take place next to the flag pole in front of the Harbor Masters building.

Two of the most respected and gifted singers in country music will share the stage with their bands on Friday, August 1.  Suzy Bogguss, a class act and true original, is a most engaging singer and fine songwriter.  She has collaborated with Vince Gill, Chet Atkins, and Willie Nelson, to name just a few of her big fans.  Jamie O’Neal has been described as a “Ferrari of a voice.”  She has written songs for Reba McEntire, Faith Hill, and LeAnn Rimes; and toured with Reba, Alan Jackson, Kenny Chesney, and Toby Keith; and she has appeared often on the Leno and Letterman shows.

Remember When 60's Show


Kicking off the evening will be the irrepressible Freddy “Boom Boom” Cannon, who first charted with the smash hit “Palisades Park” and followed up with “Tallahassee Lassie.”  He has enjoyed more than 20 charted hits and made more appearances than any  other artist on Dick’s Clark’s American Bandstand.Jay & The Techniques are best known for the monster hits “Apples Peaches Pumpkin Pie” and “Keep the Ball Rollin’” but they’ve also earned a solid reputation for their exciting live show.  Headlining Saturday is the legendary Little Anthony & The Imperials, one of the most seminal voices of early rock.  The all-original group’s timeless hits include “Tears on my Pillow,” “Shimmy Shimmy Ko-ko Bop,” “Goin’ Out of My Head,” and “Hurt So Bad” among many other big hits.
