Are you ready for the Maine Lobster Festival 10K Road Race? Here are a couple of tips to make sure you are:

1. PRE-REGISTER

Pre-registering for the Road Race by July 30 will not only save you money, it also guarantees you a commemorative t-shirt. Register early through active.com or download and mail in the registration form from the Maine Lobster Festival website.

Day-of registration will start at 7 a.m. in Harbor Park at the Main Stage.

2. GET THERE EARLY

Getting there early is extremely important as roughly 300 runners will be picking-up their registration packets Sunday morning. The lines may be long.

Not only will there be a lot of runners, some roads will be closed off in preparation of the 10K, 5K and the Kids Fun Run just before 7 a.m.

*Shuttle buses will not start until 10 a.m.

3. KNOW THE ROUTE

Both the 10K and 5K will take off from the starting line around 8:30 a.m. Although they both start at the same time and place, they eventually part ways. Although we have flaggers informing you where to go, it’s a good idea to take a look at the race route before hand so you know where you are going.

4. BRING YOUR FANS

Invite your friends and family to cheer you on as you pass the finish line. Not only will you feel more motivated, you will also have people hang out with while you relax and watch the adorable Children’s Parade that will follow at 10 a.m.

5. HAVE FUN

Many runners like to bring some fun to the road with them. Feel free to wear Lobster Festival t-shirts and other lobster related gear. Don’t forget to smile for the cameras!
