The Maine Lobster Festival was presented with the 2021 Spirit of America Foundation Award for its years of dedication to making the internationally known Festival a success for the community of Rockland and its visitors.

Secretary of State Shenna Bellows presented the award, saying, “You have represented not only Rockland, but Maine, with pride and poise. Especially during a global pandemic, your service proves to be an asset and blessing to the community! Your commitment to volunteerism is an excellent example of true Maine spirit in giving back to your community.”

For more than 30 years, the Spirit of America Foundation Tribute has been presented to individuals, organizations, and projects to honor their volunteerism. The Maine Lobster Festival is run entirely by volunteers, some of whom work year-round to ensure the Festival happens every summer. View full list of 2021 award recipients.
