The Maine Lobster Festival’s Board and President are big-time fans of live music and have spent the past year curating an amazing lineup of performers to satisfy every musical taste. Staying true to the Festival’s tradition of celebrating our state, most of the bands chosen for Maine’s premier Seafood Festival are Maine-based; and those who aren’t from here have special ties to Maine.
Let’s take a look at musical highlights of the lineup happening at the Maine Lobster Festival, Aug. 2-6, 2023 in Rockland, Maine:
Headliners & Highlights on the Main Stage
Thursday night
Kicking off Thursday night (5:30-7 p.m.) is The Tyler Healy Band, a premier country rock band that has opened for national acts such as Joe Diffie, Terri Clark, Colt Ford, The Lacs, Jawga Boys and more.
Then, get ready for Bonnie Edwards & The Practical Cats (8-9 p.m.). This eclectic group showcases Bonnie’s gutsy blues vocal style and will get you moving with their dynamic stage presence.
Friday night
The Maine bluegrass band Breakin’ Strings takes the Main Stage (5:30-7:30 p.m.). These Nashville recording artists will delight the audience playing guitar, upright bass and mandolin.
Then, (8 to 9 p.m.) The Shadow Riders, a six-piece band from New England, will perform the music of the original Marshall Tucker Band. This is a show you won’t want to miss.
Saturday night
Defern (5:30 to 7 p.m.) is an indie rock band, made up of Heather (originally from Maine) and Michael Defern, now based in Nashville, playing pop, rock, blues, and a dash of punk.
At 7 p.m. Tom Petty fans rejoice as Damn The Torpedoes, a tribute band, takes the Main Stage playing Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers’ most memorable hits.
Musical Genres Galore
We’ve got every genre to beat the band this year (no seriously!). We’re talking blues, rock, gospel, bluegrass, country, folk, pop, funk, disco, and original compositions. With multiple acts on stage, in the beer garden, and throughout the day and evening all week, you’re sure to enjoy music that has been specifically chosen to complement the seaside setting in Rockland, Maine, the strong ties of our community, the proud heritage of fishermen, and all that represents a great feeling of belonging and a rocking good time!
