The Maine Lobster Festival attracts thousands of people to Maine’s Midcoast region every year, and has a long tradition of giving back to the local community. In recent years, the Festival committee has given more than $500,000 to the local community.
The Maine Lobster Festival’s Board of Directors was thrilled to offer their financial support to student clubs, athletic teams and the classes of 2016 and 2017 at Oceanside High School in Rockland, Maine earlier this month.
Oceanside students benefited from their efforts to clean and organize the Food Tent and Lobster Café at this year’s Maine Lobster Festival. For each shift worked, student groups earned a donation of $150. In all, the Festival donated $2,850 to the high school groups.
One of the Festival’s directors and member of the Food Tent Committee, Michael McGuire, presented the checks. Student groups that earned donations included; the Class of 2017, the Class of 2018, JMG, boats for Bikes, Key Club, the Field Hockey team, and the Girls Tennis team.
