At its June board meeting, the Maine Lobster Festival continued its long-standing tradition of giving back to the Midcoast community by awarding donations to three local organizations making a meaningful impact.

Girl Scout Troop 548 received a $200 donation to support their upcoming trip to Montreal. Representing the troop at the meeting were Sarah Robertson, Evelyn Fairfield and Evelyn Robertson. The group departed for their trip the following morning.

Waldoboro Food Pantry was awarded a $1,500 donation. Heidi Straghan, who accepted the donation on behalf of the pantry, shared that the funds will directly benefit the local community. The pantry serves approximately 170 families and 430 individuals, providing not only food but also financial assistance for young families, a senior meal program, and a weekend meal program for children in the school system.

Oceanside High School Girls Basketball also received a $1,500 donation. The funds will support the team’s concessions operations, off-season tournament participation, and gear needs.

The Maine Lobster Festival is a nonprofit organization with a deep commitment to community support. These donations reflect the Festival’s mission to give back to the people and organizations that make Midcoast Maine strong.
